In a significant step towards self-sufficiency and creation of jobs, Cong. Manoy Wilbert “Wise” Lee has spearheaded the Philippine Salt Industry Development Act, which aims to reduce the country’s dependence on salt imports. Under the new law, local salt production will increase, turning the Philippines from an importer to a net exporter of salt.

“Through this measure, we will boost local production and aim to become salt self-sufficient, which will eventually generate jobs” Lee said, as he thanked the government and lawmakers for their support in passing the bill.
